What are the implications of collectively creating a fictitious, deconstructed landscape?
This project was initiated as a presentation at the Kunstfort Vijfhuizen, an art space located in a 19th century bunker surrounded by a ring of water. For it I took inspiration in the military use of water the Netherlands has benefited from. I gathered scans of architecture structures related to water management, from as early as the roman empire, and placed them in the 3D software Blender in order to create new cartographies. During the presentation I invited the public to arrange this structures any way they wanted, thinking about the aesthetics of utopia/dystopia and reflecting on the political use water is going to have in the future.
